This is the trash truck that services the park.  It's from Boring, OR so you can imagine the business signs to be seen in this small town.  And it IS bliss when they come right after a busy weekend.

 This giant slug is actually an invasive european specis.  Favorite food to eat is live plants.  Originally I thought it was a "bananna" slug but not only is their coloring yellow or dark green but they only eat dead plants .  I had to move this one out into the open for the picture and it's just now beginning to stretch out.  I'm using my hand for scale.

 Not too far West down Hwy 26 is this field with barb wire so you can't walk up to this "yard art".  He's obviously shaking his hand at something in frustration.  But it is private property!

This flowering foxglove also can be seen in white around Wildwood Park.  Digitalis comes from this plant but it's also listed as poisonous.  Apparently you don't want to eat it.

This is Wildwood Recreation Site.  It's a day use park (dawn to dusk) with big ramada's, smaller picnic areas, ball field and walking trails.  It's in a rainforest area so there are lots big ferns and just about all the trees are covered with moss.  The Salmon river runs through a portion of the park so we are anxious to see salmon running up the river which is supposed to start sometime this month.

 Cathy is standing on a walkway bridge over the Salmon river.  There is a section in the park with picnic tables and bbq grills that are located close to the water's edge.

 This is one of the coolest attractions of Wildwood.  A portion of the Salmon runs past this glass window.  You get to see fish, crawdads, fresh water snails and whatever's in the water come past this window.

 This spider walked through our camp.  It's known at a White Flower Spider.  He's about the size of a nickel  including the legs.  Apparently they don't web.  They hunt.

 This is the underside base root system of a big tree that fell over.  Huge!

Vegetation everywhere you look.  Notice the moss covered tree limbs.  The old saying is that moss grows on the North side of a tree.  But what about when the moss goes all the way around.... everything?

 Here we are cruising Westbound on Hwy 84 towards Portland area with the Columbia River on our right.  Nice ride and nice sights.

 We're passing the John Day Dam.  It was completed in 1971 and can generate 2,480,000 kW of electricity.  It also features a navigation lock and fish ladders.

 And this is how I roll.  Shades, riding gloves and Zoe the mini-doxie on my lap.

Mt. Hood in all it's glory.  The temperature was in the high 70's on July 29th in mid-afternoon.  But the mountain is still covered in snow.  Cathy and I mused 'bout how many locals don't even look at it anymore.  This mountain is a big Wow!

We spent a few days in Coeur D'Alene doing touristy stuff.  We checked out the shops downtown one day.  We also took an interesting 90 minute tour on Lake Coeur D'Alene and looked through a historical museum.    That night we ate at a floating restaurant known as "The Cedars".  It's been there a really long time.  A short few years ago there was a huge storm on the lake.  The owner spent two days on his boat hooked up to his restaurant with the boats engine on just to keep the restaurant from floating away.  We had a huge dinner of prime rib (the best we've ever had), prawns on a skewer and Alaska crab legs.  Good Livin!  Tomorrow we're off to Wildwood Recreation Site in Oregon.

 We are on top of the boat waiting to leave the dock for our lake tour.  The sun was shining so it was hot up there.

 Where the tour ship docked was also an airplane you could take for a 40 mile flight.  It took off and landed before we even left the dock.  So it was a short flight.  But you took off and landed on the water.

 Here is a pretty interesting "cabin" built onto a rock.  The tour had a "canned" presentation and this home wasn't mentioned.  There were lots of huge, very high end homes built around the lake.

This is the renowned floating golf hole.  You tee off from shore then take a small covered shuttle boat to putt out.  It's on cables and can be moved to provide a 75 to 175 yard tee off to hit it from shore.

 This huge landslide happened 2 years ago and forced a two lane road into a one lane.  And of course it's the connecting road from Dent Acres to Orofino.

 160+ entrants in this year's City of Orofino's "Show-N-Shine".  There were many cool collectible vehicles to be seen.  This picture is of the baseball field at the city park.

 My bike was picked as Best Motorcycle.  A professional photographer took pictures as it will appear on next years event t-shirt along with the other top finishers (Best in Show, Mayor's Choice and People's Choice).

 Just a few days before leaving for our next assignment in Oregon our fellow volunteers and ranger all got together for a buffet going away party.  What a great group of folks.  We'll always remember our time here with fondly.

 This is the boat dock at one end of Lake Coeur D'Alene.  Cruise ships in the foreground.  Under all the blue roofs are big power boats.  The accompanying floating dock is over 3,000 feet long and is the biggest in the Northwest.

 Cathy is standing in front of a portion of a huge aquarium located inside a resort high rise at the waters edge.  Huge huge Coy were swimming and all of them were eatin-size!  They were very neat to see.

While driving through Coeur D'Alene we saw this huge eagle sculpture.  This is not a trick photo.  That eagle is as big as the roof.  The sign stands in the grass immediately in front of the entrance.

We're grilling the catch-of-the-day. The fish grill has been hard to find as we've been looking for one for 4 months now.  Finally.........

 Lightening struck this pine tree just a few days ago.  Up close it looks like it was laser engraved.  Our coach is located about 300 feet from here.  Wow!

 Chloe and Zoe are "chillin" & checking out the scenery just to see if there is something to bark at.

This deer was spotted not far from camp.  There are lots of white tail around.  So far haven't seen any elk.

Although we don't have any pictures, our most memorable events with wildlife so far have been when we saw a very big wild male moose about a 1/4 mile East of Lolo Pass.  And once when riding the winding roads out of camp on the Harley we startled a brown hawk out of pine tree who then flew along side of us for a short while.  Cathy could actually hear the hawks wingbeats.  It was Amazing!

 Some of the pine trees in the mountains around Orofino, Id have this really wide fan styled branches.

 On our way back to Dent Acres Campground from Missoula we came across this guy with this truck cab on his roof.  He eventually turned out on a gravel patch pitching back and forth to, thankfully, let the backup of traffic go by.  Wow!

This was a very exciting moment.  Our 4 year old grandson had never gone fishing before.  And he caught this small mouth bass on his first try!  But we let the fish go as he thought the fish was "nice".
